The only remaining woollen mill on the Isle of Man, Laxey Woollen Mills is the home of the Isle’s traditional tartan. Accessories, throws, scarves, table wear, gifts & toys.
Established over 100 years ago, Laxey Woollen Mills is a family run business and offers a host of traditional Laxey Manx Tartan products. Ranges include both men’s and ladies accessories, rugs & throws, scarves & outerwear, tablewear and wedding accessories. Also offer children’s accessories and toys including teddy bears. The Mill is open from Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm including most bank holidays.

Manx Electric Railway
Unique electric railway on the Isle of Man connecting Douglas, Laxey & Ramsey with Victorian & Edwardian rolling stock. Original buildings & rural views along the way.
The Manx Electric Railway offers a unique and scenic way of exploring the east coast of the Isle of Man. The lines connects the main towns of Douglas, Laxey & Ramsey but there are more than 60 official stations along the line. Many of the lines original building survive in refurbished or modified form and the carriages are of original Victorian & Edwardian stock.

Laxey Wheel
Climb to the top of the Laxey Wheel, the world’s largest working waterwheel, and enjoy beautiful views over the surrounding Glen Mooar Valley.
Standing over 72 feet high, the Laxey Wheel is an impressive piece of Victorian engineering and the largest working waterwheel in the world. Also known as Lady Isabella, visitors can climb to the top of the Wheel and enjoy the views over the Glenn Mooar Valley. Built to service the Great Laxey Mines industrial complex, visitors can also explore the surrounding valley to learn more about the miners and ride on the nearby Great Laxey Mines Railway.

Manx Victorian Steam Railway
Steam railway on the Isle of Man running along the longest narrow gauge steam line in Britain. Original locomotives & carriages service the 15.5 mile long route.
First opened in 1874, The Manx Victorian Steam Railway is a three foot narrow gauge railway which runs between Douglas and the South of the Isle of Man. Enjoy beautiful scenery en-route and the railway is a unique way of visiting some of the Island’s many heritage attractions which are located close to its stations. The Railway Museum at Port Erin in particular is worth a visit and offers fully refurbished steam trains and carriages for you to view. The Railway is open from the end of February to the beginning of November.

Ramsey Golf Course

First established in 1891, Ramsey Golf Club is an 18 hole parkland course set at the foot of Glen Auldyn on the Isle of Man. Listed as one of Golf Monthly ‘100 Hidden Gems’ in 2011, the course offers beautiful views, a well stocked pro shop and club house with verandah, great food and locally brewed ales. Casual green fee bookings welcome and you can also enjoy group coaching sessions for beginners and improvers with a PGA professional.
